Chapter 10: To Walk in God

Walking in God’s Way
God calls us to find Him and to bring others along the path of truth. This message teaches the importance of being slow to speak, guarding your tongue, and caring for the vulnerable — the orphans, the widows, and those in need. Though people may try to tear you down to build themselves up, God reminds us that we are all one body in Him, each gifted with unique purpose. The closer you draw to God, the closer He draws to you. True faith is not in appearances but in action: using your gifts, blessing even those who persecute you, and never ceasing to do good. Listen now and learn how to walk faithfully in God’s way and live as He created you to be.

God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, then prophesy whenever you can—as often as your faith is strong enough to receive a message from God. If your gift is that of serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, do a good job of teaching. If you are a preacher, see to it that your sermons are strong and helpful. If God has given you money, be generous in helping others with it. If God has given you administrative ability and put you in charge of the work of others, take the responsibility seriously. Those who offer comfort to the sorrowing should do so with Christian cheer.
